Sometimes a Girl Just Can't Make It . .
. . to nap time! I took these yesterday as I was running around trying to get ready to go up to Idaho. I wanted the Boss to take a nap in the car but she had other ideas. She must have been really tired.

Dear Warm Weather, Please Stay
The warm weather is so welcome at our house. It can come and stay. The girls have spent a lot of time outside playing (thank heavens). The other night Mark challenged them to a soccer match. It started out two on two, Drama & Pooh Bear versus Mark and the Boss, but the Boss ended up being a much better cheer leader than a soccer player.Ah, Daddy's love is a "special" thing.
Haircut
Yesterday the Boss had her first haircut. Her mullet got to be a little too much party and not enough business, so I took her into this really cute salon, Cookie Cutters. They have fun cars for the kids to sit in instead of chairs and they get to watch movies while getting their locks trimmed. I don't know how the poor stylist even got a snip in. There was way too much for the Boss to look at and she kept turning her head this way and that way. But, in the end it turned out super cute.
The Boss took this to be a serious event. Very serious.Pooh Bear decided she wanted her hair cut as well so she had it cut just above her shoulders. Perfect for the warmer summer months. And the two cuties together.

No Dull Moments
There are no dull moments at our house. Today we were going to the toy store to make birthday lists for Pooh Bear and Drama's up coming birthdays. As we were getting ready to leave, I came downstairs to find Pooh Bear on the couch crying and terribly upset.
Me: "Pooh Bear, honey, are you okay? Are you hurt?"
PB, through dramatic sobs and giant tears: "No, I'm not hurt."
Me: "Honey, what's wrong?"
PB: "I don't know! I'm just crying and I don't know why!"
This is the point were I give her a big hug and explain that it's okay to cry for no reason, mommy does it all the time!

The Farm
Today was a beautiful day, so, we decided to pay a visit to the Thanksgiving Point Farm. The Boss was old enough to actually enjoy it this time and she had a great time pointing and yelling at the goats, chickens, horses and pigs.
Drama and Pooh Bear love to ride the ponies and I thought that Boss would like it as well. She had a lot of fun pointing and talking (to or about I'm not sure) the ponies and even sat on one of the little ponies for about 2 minutes. Then the pony started to move and that's about the time she decided that pony rides were not for her!
I forgot to grab my camera but I took this video with my cell phone. The Boss loved talking to the goats, or she was making sure that I had seen each and every one. Just before this video, she had grabbed onto the fence to watch and one of the goats nibbled her fingers, so she is especially wary of the goats when they get too close.
We must have had a good time because by the time we drove back into our garage this is what I found in the back of my car:Yes, Pooh Bear was actually snoring!

Easter
It was our annual "Easter Egg Hunt." The Easter Bunny hid a bunch of eggs in our living room and the girls had fun looking for them. The Boss even got into the fun and excitement. We colored eggs yesterday but the Easter Bunny doesn't hide those, we have found too many eggs months after the hunt has ended!
I put curlers in Drama's and Pooh Bear's hair last night and this is how curly their hair started just after I took all the curlers out. It didn't last for too long though. They made it through church but by the time they went to bed their hair was almost straight again! Too cute girlies! It's spring break this week. A whole week of no school. Pray for me.
Happy Easter!

Wicked
Wicked came to the Capital Theater last night. We tried to get tickets way back in December to see it, anytime, we would have ditched church to see it, seriously. It didn't happen. The website was locked up and we couldn't get tickets, so sad. Well, Mark trolls KSL Classifieds on a daily basis and has been tracking the price of Wicked tickets that people were trying to unload. Tuesday he found some for last night (Wednesday, opening night) and snapped them up. So I got to see Wicked, finally, Happy Mother's Day to me! And my review: Loved, Loved, Loved it! The music is great and fun and the characters and plot are hilarious! Two thumbs way up! Go see it if you can.
When we got home, after 11 pm, I'm too old for late nights, the babysitter had left us this note:
"The Boss hit Drama in the lip. We put some ice on it. It should be all good."
I feel so bad for the babysitter sometimes. The girls love her but totally take advantage of her!

Dad's and Donuts
Today was Dad's and Donuts Day for the Kindergartners at school. It was also a big day because it is the first time the kindergartners get to eat lunch in the cafeteria. Super big fun! Here is Mark's report from the event:"Lunch Pics. I like the one where Pooh Bear doesn't even bother to smile for the camera because she is far too busy munching on her pizza.
After everything was done I was walking out the front door of the school and Pooh Bear come bursting through the doors after me, face completely beet red, tears streaming screaming "daddy, don't forget you paper I made you."
She had made a card at class for me detailing all the ways in which she loves me. I had inadvertently left it on her desk when I walked her back, and she was devastated that I had forgotten it.
I retrieved the paper from her, and gave her a big hug. Then I took her by the hand and started walking her back to class. In total Pooh Bear fashion, with tears still staining her cheeks, she looks up at me and asks as if I was mentally retarded:
PB: dad, where are you going?
Dad: I am going to take you back to class, then I am going back to work. Is that ok?
PB: You don't need to take me to class, I know where it is at, you are the one who can't remember his paper.......bye!
And she ran off. Her heart may be tender, but she still thinks of herself as a teenager."

My Problem
Pooh Bear has serious eczema that gets really bad in the cold weather. Tonight was a particularly troubling night for her and this conversation between her and her father was overheard.
PB: "Why does my skin itch so much?"
Dad: "Because it's sensitive."
PB: "Why does it have to be so sensitive?"
Dad: "Because that's the way people are. You have sensitive skin, Drama has tummy troubles, and Daddy has hair issues."
PB: "What's Mommy's problems?"
Dad: "She has to have babies."
PB: "No, I know what Mommy's problem is. She has pains in her neck!"

Special Delivery
If you get a child sized package on your doorstep, you have a special visitor. Keep the visitor as long as you can stand her and then repackage her and send her to the next relative she requests.Mark got his new guitar today, an early birthday present, and it came in this lovely fun box. The girls, of course, thought the box was way cooler than the guitar and immediately tried to mail themselves, Flat Stanley style, to Grandma Tina. Watch the doorstep Grandma Tina, a grandchild will be there in 2 to 5 business days!
