REAL Salt Lake Game

August 14, 2010

Drama's soccer team got to run out on the soccer field before a REAL game and stand out there during the national anthem. Then her team, coaches and parents (and a couple of awesome grandparents) all sat together and watched the game. Well, the adults watched the game, the girls mostly ate as many snacks as they could barter out of their parents.

Waiting in the "corral" before the game. . .
"Chilling" and waiting (patiently) for Drama to run out onto the field. . .
On the field with her friend Brielle. . .
"Watching" the game and enjoying an icee. . .
 The whole gang. . .

Serious Sass

Sometimes I amaze myself with my skillz. I love to browse the site You Can Make This. Every once in a while I feel inspired that, YES, I CAN make that! Today was one of those days, so I made this....
A couple of things I totally shocked myself with, I made my own bias tape.
That's right, I. made. my. own.
Now the pattern said to make it out of the same material as the main dress fabric, but of course I didn't have enough of that. So I thought I would make it out of the trim fabric. But what I didn't realize right away was that it would make it (and any mistakes I made) super noticeable. I also thought that the hot pink thread was a good idea until I remembered I was a terrible seamstress!

So I went extra slow, only had to pick out one seam, and practically had a heart attack every time the needle moved....
Two naps and a couple of Dora's later....
And voila! Super cute, super sassy little dress for a super cute, super sass little girl...
Oh, btw, The Boss got a hair cut.

First Day of School

Ahhhh, do you hear that? The sound of children at school and not running around my house. {whinny voice} "Mooooommmm, I'm bored."

Hooray for school!
Her sign says "I can[n't] wait!
All ready to go.

Bea's Myringotomy

Bea has had one too many ear infections, so, bright and early this morning we headed to the hospital for ear tube installation, "Myringotomy and Tubes."Her doctor said that her ears/ear canals were very small. "The 7 month old's he did just before were much bigger." Should I be insulted? I'm not sure what that means but sounds to me like it is a "big" (hahaha, I'm pretty tired) part of her problem.

The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes. The sedation was hard for her to shake off and she was pretty sad until I gave her a bottle and turned off the light. She relaxed and took a tiny nap which was just enough to get the sedative out of her system. She's been tired today but mostly back to her happy self.

Here is her little cute self, happy as can be, in the waiting room...

Sporting the super hip hospital PJs and hanging out until her turn...

Her hospital tag and super cute toes...

Love the jamies...
And then I had to stop taking pictures because she almost fell off the bed, again. We didn't need another reason to be at the hospital.

The Lion King

August 12, 2010

Waaaaaayyyyyy back in March-ish we were lucky enough to get tickets to the Lion King at the Capital Theater.

Drama and Pooh Bear have been begging (constantly) to go to a "Broadway" show. They were thrilled when they found out that the Lion King was coming and that their parents were brave enough to take them.

Can I just tell you that we had so much fun. I love taking these two, not so little any more, girls to things. They are so appreciative of everything. They loved the "fancy" restaurant, PF Changs, delicious.
And they loved, LOVED, The Lion King.
Exclamations I overheard during the show...

"This is AWESOME!"

"I don't want this night to end!"

New Family Photos....Finally

Finally, Bea is only a year old, but I thought that I would go ahead and get it done before she was, I don't know 18. When you go with a company with "cheap" in their name YOU might be a little worried. I might have been a tiny bit worried, but all things considered I think that there are some good photos. Here are some of my faves...
