One of the things I love about my kids is that they love to be helpful. There was a good "stock up" sale at Albertsons and I came home with restocks for my food storage. Drama and Pooh Bear were given the task of writing the date on the loot. Now every time I get something from downstairs their cute handwriting will not only remind me what to use first it will make me smile.

Chunky Monkey
Wait, what day is it?
Wow, I am tired. I just realized that everything I posted yesterday was dated 2008! I left it for you to marvel at. I need some serious sleep!
18 Month Doctor Visit
August 24, 2009The Boss turned 18 months old on the 3rd of this month and she had her checkup Monday. She's healthy, happy, into everything but doesn't say many coherent things. (she's obviously saying something important, just not in a language we understand!) Here are her stats:
Date: August 24, 2009
Height: 32 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 23 pounds 2 ounces (25th percentile)

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication
August 23, 2008
Sunday church was canceled here in Utah for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Dedication. The temple was dedicated in two sessions on Sunday (I think there were quite a few more on Friday and Saturday). Our ward was to attend the 3pm session broadcast to our Stake house. Drama was very excited that she was old enough to go. I was worried that she would get bored but she sat still and listened to all the talks and was happy to be there.
In this picture below we are holding our hankies that we took to the dedication. They are Drama's Great Great Grandma Larsen's (my mother's father's mother) and Great Great Grandma Smith's (my mother's mother's mother). She loved how old and beautiful the hankies were. They were a gift to Drama from her Grandma Great, I think for her first Christmas. Anyway the dedication was beautiful and I was really happy/proud/grateful to share it with Drama. I think it will be something we will both remember for a long time. And of course, we can't have too serious a blog entry, that would be crazy. Pooh Bear took our picture after we got home and I liked this one in particular. It's classy like a double wide, as my sister would say.

Babysitters Wanted
August 4, 2008Now that school is back in session I am in need of highly qualified babysitters. You would have big shoes to fill, however. Qualified applicants would be willing to play endlessly with a demanding 18 month old, entertaining her for hours by
A) building leggo towers for her to destroy,
2) building domino houses for her to destroy,
c) setting up the little people farm nicely for her to destroy, etc., etc., etc.
All while displaying a level of patients far beyond your young age. If you feel you can happily perform this duty, please call, because right now I am this child's sole entertainer!

Happy Helpers

We got a new swing for Aria, the old one is having issues as you will see later. The girls are, of course, happy to help in any way they can, it must be in their job descriptions...Watching all those episodes of Handy Manny are really beginning to pay off...
And testing the equipment (all of it, just in case)...
Probably why the old swing has issues...

Breakfast of Champions
August 25, 2008
The Boss is, let's face it, a little bossy and a little odd. Breakfast this morning is a great example. We usually share a bowl of cereal, i.e. I pour myself a bowl of cereal and she eats most of it. This morning she preferred her cereal this way..
The Bossy - Can't you just read it all in her expression? Love it!The Odd - Saying grace? Contemplating the future of the kingdom? Probably just looking at herself in the lid! Please note - This is lucky charms. Well, what's left after she eats the marshmallows.

Slides are Slippery
It's quiet in my house, well Sesame Street is on but two babies are still sleeping and two children are not fighting! (Yes, Drama and Pooh Bear have rediscovered and love watching Sesame Street, whatever, it's not Sponge Bob.)
I love KSL classifieds. Where else can you find a totally awesome toddler play gym for $35! These are so expensive new so I have been trolling KSL for a couple of weeks to find a "gently used" one and really (I almost used totally again, I must be sleep deprived and reverting back to my high school days!) scored with this one...We needed something in the back yard for the Boss to play on since the big play set is way too big. This is perfect, only a foot and a half off the ground so the Boss can fall off and not get too hurt. Of course her sisters are always most helpful in matters such as this.
Yes, Pooh Bear is in her gym suit, not swim suit. She has taken to wearing just her gym suit on gymnastic days. It must be too hot for any other layers, like a pair of shorts! We have actually gone to the Eye Dr. to pick up her glasses dressed like this. That's good parenting!

The Burrito Wrap
The Burrito Wrap is the single most important parenting skill one must learn when a new baby is introduced into the home. Our kids loved the burrito wrap, it's the only way they could sleep for the first couple of months. They didn't like hitting themselves in the head with wild arms and hands they didn't even know they had! Mark is the master at the burrito wrap, he can get it so tight there's no way that baby is going to wiggle out! Apparently The Boss was in need of a time out, or something, so Mark wrapped her up, burrito style....A sister's love...ahhh. This is about 30 minutes before The Boss whacked Aria in the head with her foam puzzle book. Now that's a sister's love. All together now, aahhhh.
