It's All Part of the Disease

Lately I have been stalking a few blogs that are stunning, amazing, and inspirational, if not totally unattainable for a non-artist such as I. And while I have not been "officially" diagnosed by a doctor, I am certain that there is an official name for what I have. For now we'll just call it "I saw this beautiful picture of a kitchen/birthday cake/painted hutch/valentine's party and I love it, I am inspired by it, I want it, I need it, I can totally do that, HOW HARD CAN IT BE, REALLY Disease."

Or HHCIBR Disease, for short. I think they might be doing clinical trials on an investigational medication somewhere in the country.

Here are a few examples of my neurosis:

Photography

I want so badly to take a class from this amazing woman at A Little Sussy. . .

Crochet

This, surprisingly, is one thing I can do relatively well. I started learning last month and totally love it. I still have a hard time reading a pattern but apparently that doesn't really bother me. Because I never listened to my mother when I was growing up, I never learned any of these fun things from her. (Every time I start a project I think to myself, "I should have listened to my mother, then I would know how to do this!")
My flower doesn't lay flat. I think I did twice as many petals as I was supposed to. Right now I am obsessed with flowers. This one came from Creative Yarn.

Parties, Parties, Parties

Kara's Party Ideas

One Charming Party

Dear Lizzy

These party blogs are so beautiful and they make everything look so attainable, they have tutorials and everything! Because of this I have been drawn into beautiful party fever. In all honesty I am not a party person. I'm not a fan of the loud, the rowdy, or the frivolous. But I have been seduced. The Boss' birthday party was a little over the top for me (not nearly the magnitude of my inspiration parties above, but for me.) Making paper happy birthday banners, cupcake liners to match, coordinated table settings with matching place cards, fancy marshmallows. . .

Then Pooh Bear talked me into having a Valentine's Party for her and her friends. Drama had been invited to 3 parties in 2 weeks and it was torturing Pooh Bear. So I succumbed. And yesterday we had 10 girls running crazy around my little house, because frankly, I am insane and I wanted to have the Valentine's party in the pictures. I blame it all on the disease.

Here are some of the highlights from Pooh Bear's Valentine's Day Party:

Paper hearts and ballons galore, red raspberry jello with whipped cream for dessert, heart sugar cookies with yummy butter cream frosting (really the only reason for a holiday), and of course a party itinerary.  . .

I don't know if I have the party fever worked out of my system. I'll have to see what the amazing minds come up with for Saint Patrick's Day. . . .

  5. Hmm-
Maybe with the holidays, my invitation is still in the mail....
Is it because at the Boss' party, I suggested we carefully wipe off every beautifully handcrafted paper item & use it again? Just never imagined you'd create a competitor decor, but you launched the boat of party traditions now!
Lets see, you'll have your last high school graduation party right before 2030. No big deal.
I also thought on the diagnosis/name of the "disease": I can get my hands on a glucometer for free :).
