Crack-berry

Anyone who knows me know that I have addiction problems. Hello, my name is Amy and I am addicted to:
1. Sonic's Diet Cherry Coke - I keep going back even though the service is terrible and every time I say to myself, "this is the last one, I promise, I can quit anytime"
2. Shoes - not only for me. I have bought The Boss probably 12+ pairs of shoes in her short life (most of them were on clearance for $1.25). Now ask me if The Boss will wear shoes for more that 20 seconds? No, thanks for asking, she won't. In fact, she usually has the first shoe off before I can get the second one on.
3. Well, you get the point, I don't want to go into all my vices, let's be honest it's embarrassing.

So to add to my addictions I have acquired a blackberry cellphone. If you own a blackberry you probably know what I am talking about, if you are married to someone who owns a blackberry you know what I am talking about, if you don't I shall try to explain. Imagine, if you will, realizing that everything you thought was important really isn't and all that is important in this world can be displayed on a tiny 1.5"x2" screen. Now you might think that this is not possible, how can an other wise sensible person become so obsessed over a phone? In the first place, I was never sensible and in the second - it's crack baby, crack.

I can quit anytime I want to. I just don't want to. . .

  1. Hi, my name is Billie. I'm your sister. I'm addicted to Sonic diet Coke, too. But instead of promising to quit, I just complain to you and Mom (also an addict). I have seen the light, and it is the Sonic drive thru.

  2. Hi, my name is Karen. I'm your sister-in-law. I haven't tried the Sonic Diet Cherry Coke (which I will be doing first thing tomorrow) but I am a diet coke addict and I cannot live without my Crack-berry!!!!!! I must say as a Crack-berry addict I have been able to make lots of people (co-workers) think that I am in a office when really I am out shopping, picking up children, having my hair done, and feeding my diet coke addiction. So there you have it, don't feel like you are the only one. And I am loving every second of it.

P.S. I know use whomever is in the passenger seat of the car to do all my e-mail responses instead of pulling over. It saves so much time and energy.

  3. Hi, my name is Tina and too am a Sonic cherry diet coke addict. It doesn't help that my children are enablers and give me a Sonic gift card for my birthday. (but very much appreciated!) And speaking of blackberry's - now Matt has one too! Will the family addictions ever end?

  4. I agree, technology is additicting and the faster we can get our emails or pictures in the middle of nowhere is only going to make the Addiction worse. I try to have days where I put my itouch down but I constantly check my emails, blogs, bank, and bills. Also living in Dr. Pepper land dosent help that addiction.

  5. Wow, thanks for the support guys. Really, honestly, who needs a bishop when you have a blog to confess your sins to? You all made me feel down right good to be a sinner! And, yes, mom everyone else is doing it!

  6. Again-as I contemplate passing the torch to the next generation, I go blank. Actually more like stunned. However, realizing you take the good with the bad-isn't there fruit in the Sonics add on syrup? No? And I after I attended a marriage class last year at Ed Wk (YUP-41 yrs. I need it), he did say way too many couples come in because of friction from blackberry's and their place on nightstands-or in bed. So my pass-on advice that comes from Brent Barlow, head of the Marriage Institute at BYU. Put them nighty night away from you ears. What'cha think?

  7. wow Mom, always looking for a chance to throw down a parental lecture. I have two reasons why my blackberry stays downstairs. 1. If it is on my nightstand, I will forget it when I leave for work. 2. I can't stand the thing making noise when I am trying to go to sleep. I love getting and tracking my emails, but sleep it to precious for me these days.
